Personnel
In 1985, bassist Charnett Moffett was just 17 and largely unknown when he recorded Wynton Marsalis's landmark album Black Codes (From the Underground). The record became a jazz classic, and it put a teenager at the center of the scene.
In this catalogue Terri Lyne Carrington mostly turns up in the small print — behind a piano trio on Work! (1986), inside someone else's concept on Gershwin's World (1998). Then Money Jungle: Provocative In Blue (2013) is hers, and it made her the first woman to win the Grammy for best jazz instrumental album.
