Drummer, bandleader, and composer from Texas. Known for his work with the Terence Blanchard Group and many Blue Note artists. A long-time collaborator of Walter Smith III, he anchors the core trio on Twio Vol. 2.
Oracle, the leader band of Kendrick ScottKendrick Scottケンドリック・スコット, is where the Houston-born drummer's authorship comes through most clearly, sustained for years with Mike Moreno, Taylor Eigsti, Joe SandersJoe Sandersジョー・サンダース, and John Ellis. His charts are unusually written outward from the drum part rather than the other way around.

In 2019 Kendrick Scott released A Wall Becomes a Bridge with his band Oracle on Blue Note, a Derrick Hodge-produced 12-song cycle weaving Black history and contemporary politics with Scott's own struggle to overcome writer's block.
